Department of Nursing
The Department of Nursing traces its roots to the College of Nursing of the Mariano Marcos Memorial College of Science and Technology (MMCST) which was opened on June 20, 1976 by virtue of Board Resolution No. 140, s. 1976 with Dr. Deborah R. Abara as the first dean. At present, the Department of Nursing is one of the academic departments of the College of Health Sciences.

Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy
The Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy is a four-year degree program consisting of general education and professional courses. It also includes an internship program that involves assigning students to different CHED-accredited affiliation centers that cater to various patient/client populations for a minimum of 1500 hours.
Program Objectives
The program aims to produce physical therapists who are:
- Produce physical therapists equipped with all requisite knowledge, skills, and professional behaviors in order for them to practice effectively for the maintenance of health and restoration of function.
- Conduct, disseminate and utilize relevant researches for the improvement of the quality of physical therapy education and services.
- Render extension services that promote community empowerment and mainstreaming of persons with disabilities through the use of available resources.
- Promote linkages and partnerships with government institutions and private agencies in the implementation of physical therapy and rehabilitation programs.
Program Outcomes
The graduates of Bachelor of Science in Physical Therapy should be able to:
- Apply acquired knowledge of physical sciences, social sciences, and natural sciences to the practice of physical therapy.
- Demonstrate consistent competence in conducting a comprehensive examination, evaluation, and assessment of patients/clients across the lifespan within a broad continuum of care.
- Demonstrate consistent competence in planning and implementing appropriate physical therapy interventions for patients/clients across the lifespan within a broad continuum of care.
- Apply teaching-learning principles in different learning environments.
- Practice beginning management and leadership skills in various practice settings.
- Demonstrate research-related skills in the application of best practice evidence in the performance of various roles in different practice settings.
- Promote health and improved quality of life through the practice of the profession.
- Actively engage in lifelong learning activities.
- Work effectively in an inter-professional collaborative setting.
- Demonstrate proficiency in oral and written communication skills as well as reading and listening.
- Demonstrate social and professional responsibility and ethical behaviors in multi-cultural settings and scenarios.
- Maximize the use of innovative technology in the practice of the profession.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing is a four-year degree program consisting of general education and professional courses. Professional courses are threaded through from the first year thru the fourth year with emphasis on the nursing concepts with the corresponding Related Leaerning Experiences (RLE). The BSN program provides an intensive nursing practicum that will refine further the nursing competencies to ensure achievement of the BSN program required of an entry level nurse.
Accreditation Level
The department was awarded with its Certificate of Program Compliance to operate the Bachelor of Science in Nursing per CMO No. 24 s. 2006 and CMO No. 55 s. 2017 in accordance with the pertinent provisions of Republic Act (RA) No. 7722, otherwise known as the “Higher Education Act of 1994.”
With regard to accreditation status, the Bachelor of Science in Nursing program has passed the Level IV Phase 1 of the Accrediting Agency of Chartered Universities and Colleges in the Philippines (AACCUP) conducted in March 2019 with all the rights and privileges as well as the obligations and responsibilities corresponding thereto.
